2006 NISSAN NAVARA DCI AVENTURA d40 double cab pick up truck 4x4
.
nissan navara aventura double cab d40. ive owned this truck for about a year now and its by far been the best vehicle ive ever owned. its been faultless,...>
and im only selling as the wife wants another automatic, and somthing thats abit eaiser to park. Rite, here goes. 80k with fsh. its got full black unmarked heated leather. sat nav, voice activated hands free kit. air con, climate control, cruise control, premium sound system, with 6 disk changer. brand new A bar which cost me £300. roof bars, side bars, and a brand new tow bar, with a years warranty. I also fitted the hard top that lifts up on hydrolic rams. it also has window deflectors x4. then i paid £800 for the private reg that looks like navara (N16VRA)this plate will stay with the vehicle as i think looks great and makes the truck stand out. The truck comes with 8 months mot, and 2 month tax, but it only costs £200 a year, or £115 for 6 month. and with it being manual, its very good on diesel, so in all its pretty cheap to run considering how big the car is. The car drives perfect in every way, and has no bangs, rattles, or any smoke what so ever. so grab, in my opinion, one of the best navara`s out there. The transfer picture on the rear window will be professionally removed prior to the auction ending. Any questions you can phone me - John on 07525651754£200 non refundable deposit via paypal within 24hrs of auction ending. CASH on collection. X

Steve Walker ReportsIt wasnt so long ago that gap between the typical UK market pick-up truck and a family 4x4 passenger car was a vast chasm, a infinite gulf of differing values and capabilities. They were like chalk and cheese, black and white, Mike Tyson and John Inman. One had leather seats, the other vinyl, one came loaded with advanced technology, the other had mechanicals that were advanced, but only in years. The pick-up was a simple working vehicle, the family 4x4 was a fashionable lifestyle accessory and that was that. Then models like the latest Nissan Navara massively raised the pick-ups game and distinctions that were once stark have been blurred. In range-topping Aventura guise, the Navara can out-spec a Land Rover Discovery. The improvement in quality that were witnessing in the UK pick-up market is partly due to the major protagonists all coming to the end of their lengthy lifespans at the same time and being replaced by more modern vehicles, but theres also the little issue of tax. As a commercial vehicle, the Nissan Navara offers tax benefits both to company car users and to businesspeople. A self-employed person buying one through their business can reclaim the VAT on the purchase price and motorists choosing one as their company car only pay a flat rate of tax thats much cheaper than the Benefit In Kind charges levied on passenger car drivers. The pick-up has grown in popularity because of these factors and with people increasingly buying them for use as family transportation rather than as commercial vehicles, the manufacturers have been gradually offering models with more and more opulent specifications. The Nissan Navara Aventura is just about the poshest UK market pick-up you can lay your hands on at the moment and so it represents the current state of this working vehicles gentrification. At this point, youll be wanting to know exactly what you get for the £21,500 (ex VAT) it takes to secure a Double Cab Aventura, so here goes. Theres climate control, remote control central locking, automatic headlamps, headlamp washers, rain sensing windscreen wipers, a trip computer, cruise control and a 6-CD autochanger but these features are also included on the Navara Outlaw which is a step down the ladder from the Aventura. In addition to these items, Aventura buyers also benefit from an MP3-compatible premium audio system, DVD-based satellite navigation and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Group these features together and they are known as the Hitech Pack - an optional extra which can be specified on lesser Navara models for a £1,700 premium but which is standard on the Aventura. Furthermore, the Premium Pack (a £1,375 option on the Outlaw) is also included as standard. This features an electric glass sunroof, front, side and curtain airbags, leather trim and heated, electrically adjustable seats. This level of specification would have been totally alien to pick-up buyers a few years ago, but not any more. "The Nissan Navara Aventura is just about the poshest UK market pick-up you can lay your hands on"The Navara Aventura is only offered in Double Cab form which means that there are four access points into the cab and a full rear bench behind the two front seats. The Double Cab benefits from roof rails, which do not feature on the smaller King Cab models, along with imposing 17" alloy wheels and the bold Nissan 4x4 family grille. Theres the option of 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearboxes mated to the impressive 174bhp 2.5-litre common-rail diesel engine. The Navara is actually based on Nissans Pathfinder family 4x4 which goes someway to explaining the quality of its interior and the level of technology featured. The Navara hasnt only made steps forward in becoming a more comfortable and luxurious proposition. Its also a more practical vehicle than its pick-up forebears. Storage space in the cabin, never a strong point for any of the previous generation of pick-ups, has been improved through the inclusion of a 6.0-litre box in the centre console and twin gloveboxes in front of the passenger. There are also specialist spaces for coins, cups and cards along with a neat sunglasses holder which folds down from a console in the roof. The door pockets are much larger than before and the seats in the Double Cab can be folded into various positions to further boost the capacity. Aventura buyers also get the C-Channel system which is comprised of five rails mounted into the loadbay sides and floor. These can accommodate special cleats which slide along and lock into place to provide lashing points for securing loads. The Navaras powertrain may well be its most impressive feature. The vehicle is powered by a version of Nissans tried and tested 2.5-litre diesel engine. This unit uses second generation common-rail injection technology with a variable nozzle turbocharger and twin counter rotating balancer shafts. The net result of all this is increased efficiency and refinement but the big plus comes in terms of raw power. Buyers used to UK market pick-ups with between 100 and 130bhp will feel their eyebrows raising at the Navaras 171bhp output. Theres a massive 403Nm of torque too which gives the Navara real prowess as a towing vehicle. It will actually tow 2. 6 tonnes and carry 1,097kg in its load bay but, if you unhitch the trailer and unload whatever youve got in the rear, it will also average over 33mpg. All Navara models get Nissans proven part-time 4x4 system. All drive goes to the rear wheels under normal conditions but torque is split equally to all four wheels when 4x4 mode is engaged via a dashboard-mounted dial. Theres a low ratio mode for serious offroad work too and, with this setting selected, drivers have the option of employing an electronic rear diff lock to extricate themselves from really sticky situations. In terms of specification, the Navara Aventura puts many family 4x4s in the shade but it is still a pick-up truck despite all the passenger car refinements. The tough leaf springs on the rear that enable it to carry weighty loads also make for a bumpier ride than youd get in a decent family 4x4 but the ride and handling are both far better than in pick-ups of the past. Most Aventura customers will be buying the vehicle as everyday transport and when used in this way, its a comfortable and extremely versatile product.Facts At A Glance CAR: Nissan Navara Aventura pick-up range ENGINE: 2.5-litre 171bhp PERFORMANCE: Max speed 105mph / 0-60mph 11.5s DIMENSIONS: 5220/1850/1886 length/width/heightmm Build Comfort Depreciation Economy Equipment Handling Insurance Performance Styling Value Tuesday April 22 Send by Messenger Email this article Print ADVERTISEMENT if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object(); window.yzq_d['hXjRA9mSu10-']='&U=13o9vdl2t%2fN%3dhXjRA9mSu10-%2fC%3d200129053.202047095.203314499.200493719%2fD%3dLREC%2fB%3d201144963%2fV%3d1'; Car Videos Paris Motor Show See the world's newest carsbefore they hit the road. Equipment levels are good, with every variant having standard air-con and Bluetooth phone connectivityAnd at the centre of the manufacturer's SUV line-up is the all-new version of the X-Trail. At first glance, it doesn't seem that much different from the car it replaces. Indeed, when it was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the latest generation went virtually unnoticed.Look closer, though, and you will see that every panel is new - as is the platform, which is shared with the Qashqai crossover. Retaining the rugged style of the original X-Trail was paramount for Nissan's designers, who have made subtle adjustments all-round for a fresher look. A more radical approach has been taken inside, though. The outgoing variant's trademark knobbly seats and durable dashboard were becoming dated, yet they had a utilitarian feel that the new model lacks. Nissan has deliberately fitted a more upmarket dash, which is perfectly laid out and attractively styled.Equipment levels are good, with every variant having standard air-con and Bluetooth phone connectivity. The latest X-Trail is even more practical than before, too, with a huge boot featuring a clever two-level floor and 40/20/40-split rear seats. There will be two petrol and two diesel powerplants to choose from. The entry-level 2.0-litre petrol unit comes from the Qashqai, while the 2.5-litre petrol is a modified version of the current X-Trail's motor. About 90 per cent of UK buyers are expected to go for the diesels, however, and there's a fresh 2.0-litre oil-burner to replace the 2.2, with power outputs of 148bhp or 171bhp. Our top Aventura-spec car came with Nissan's six-speed automatic transmission, and is one of the few oil-burning self-shifters in this sector. Out on the road, it's soon clear that improving refinement has been a top priority. Although the diesel rattle remains at all speeds - made worse by the auto's sluggish changes - the X-Trail is now a pretty quiet and relaxing long-distance cruiser.Body control has been improved, too. While it can take time for the driver to gain confidence in the over-assisted steering, at the right speed, the Nissan corners with surprisingly little roll. However, enter a bend too fast and it's apparent from the angle of lean that you are driving an SUV.The company's own research indicates that a surprising 30 per cent of X-Trails are taken off-roading once a month. As a result, this model is even more competent than its predecessor over rough terrain. A revised version of the maker's four-wheel-drive system, along with fresh hill descent and climb functions, ensure it's more competent than a soft-roader. So the new X-Trail is indeed better in nearly every way... but it may still go unnoticed. That's because there's nothing revolutionary about the design, which could leave it lacking in vital showroom appeal.Prices will range from around £19,000 to £25,000 when the new model goes on sale in September. It retains the rugged feel and adventurous spirit of the outgoing model, but doesn't offer vast improvements in any one area. While practical, comfortable and reasonably capable on and off-road, the Nissan brings nothing new to the compact 4x4 market - although bettering the already highly competent outgoing car will be enough for many buyers. That’s because this pick-up is a gigantic brute of a car, a proper workhorse, a ‘car’ that’s not afraid to roll up its sleeves and get dirty. And because Nissan knows that it can’t match the green oval kudos of Land Rover you can buy the Pathfinder loaded with leather, heated electric seats and sat-nav. Question is, is this a step too far? What powers the Nissan Pathfinder? Some large V8?There’s only one engine, an archaic but hardy 169bhp 2.5-litre diesel. And while overtaking on single carriageways is best consigned to memory, 297lb ft of torque ensures the same lumbering pace regardless of the hill the Nissan faces. As you might imagine, handling is not high up the Pathfinder's priorities. Body roll is borderline ridiculous, it’s not great at softening out the road’s bumps, and with a back end that extends into neighbouring counties, the Pathfinder can feel clumsy on narrow B-roads. Steering requires more muscle effort than most and the gearshift is a little sloppy. But those who’d buy into the exterior styling – effectively a Navara with a steel canopy above the pick-up bed, and well suited to gun racks, hunting lights and UN decals – would want it to be a bit of a brute.Click 'Next' below to read more of our Nissan Pathfinder first drive 123Next>> Rate this article... 1 2 3 4 5 Average rating: 3 (49 votes) Discuss this Add your comment Sign in You must be signed in to submit a comment. Nissan replaced the clutch after 100,000, and it just goes and goes. That has been the only problem. Monday to Friday it has been used to commute, with the 3 kids, weekends it pulls a horse box, and at holiday times we take grandparents as well. 85-90mph on the motorway is easy, stable, and comfortable. 70mph with the box behind it, two roof racks and loaded to the gunnels, no problem. Better than 30mpg, as well. No, it doesn't corner like an Elise, but an Elise is no use if there's five adults, two big dogs and a horse to move around, and neither will it pull a horsebox across a wet field. Going to visit the family is a 1000km trip, 12 hours driving, and the seats are brilliant, I get out without backache, as do the rest of the tribe, which again is not something you can say about many cars, or at least I can't. If I would give one piece of advice, it would be not to go for the sat-nav, which is fine new, but cannot be updated without dismantling half the car to change the disk. Oh, and buy a hydraulic jack, as the one supplied is a bit feeble. That apart, if this is the market you're in, you can't do better. A second hand Disco as an alternative? You must be on another planet. I wouldn't swap mine now for a new Discovery, as I know two people who've bought one for pulling their kids' horses around, and they've both spent as much time off the road being fixed under guarantee as on it. Our other car is a 2004 X-Trail, with 180,000km so far, and again, never a problem. 11 August 2010 10:03 thenoname says RE: Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 dCi Aventura CAR review Adventura is good and I have just got a 2007. However £14,000 is pushing it as I paid £12,300 for mine and that was from a Nissan Dealer. The car guides put them at around that price so £14K+ is a no no. Cant make up my mind on it yet as I PX a Patrol. I do find the paint on the Pathfinder soft and prone to scratches and markes where the Patrol seemed solid. I have been informed that it is down to the fact that they use waterbase paint, but as I do not have a clue I cannot comment. A lot of plastic inside that also is prone to marking. I did however put a tuning box on which I fit to all my vehicles which supposidly boosts the BHP up to 206. It certainly feels more responsive and can say with hand on heart I put the cruise control on 60mph from Gatwick to Heathrow on M25 and returned 48mpg. And 30+ urban. Then it's all how you drive it. The tyres that come with it are a odd size 255/65R17. Twin duelers were not much cop in the snow even with the traction controll off. I swappep them on the Patrol for General Grabber AT which were brillient as I off road a fair bit. I can't seem to find Grabbers in Pathfinder size as the Patrol was a 16 inch rim and wider. They were £90 each. Maybe some one can direct me to a site that will give me a good AT tyre that fits. The sat nav updates are expensive at well over £300, But I got one for £20 from Ebay that works fine. Trust this helps Thenoname 11 February 2009 16:39 karenmelton says RE: Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 dCi Aventura CAR review i am buying a used pathfinder, on 07 plate top spec aventura dci any problems i should be aware of ahead of the purchase , buying it as price is so low only 14,999, its got 17.000 miles on the clock in todays credit crunch no one wants these beasts but we compared it to the likes of vauxhall zafira at allmost the same cost and this seems a better buy 18 January 2009 22:51 Oakwood says RE: Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 dCi Aventura CAR review Does anyone know if Nissan have sorted out the clutch and flywheel design after the failures of the 2005 Pathfinders? I had two clutches fail in 40000 miles, against earlier ownership of a Landrover where the clutch lasted over 10 years. Nissan have yet to persuade me that their vehicles are reliable. 18 January 2009 14:43 geed says RE: Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 dCi Aventura driven Remember Matthew Jones, it's only on this tiny little xenophobic island where people think Landrovers are the "only" choice if you want an offroader. Those in countries that choose a 4wd out of necessity will almost always go with a truck that has a Nissan or a Toyota badge on it. The Landrover badge is synonymous with failure. Turn up in outback Australia in a Discovery for instance and providing you made it their in the first place, you will be laughed at all the way back to your suburban paved driveway - often on the back of a flatbed ;-) 15 May 2008 15:32 Show all comments Become a CAR contributor Upload stories, photos or videos direct to the site, or email newsdesk@carmagazine.co.uk. While new car sales for the first ten months of this year are down by 5 per cent, sales of pick-ups have risen by 5 per cent — with 29,711 vehicles sold. The models on offer from Ford, Mazda, Isuzu, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Nissan generally include two- and four-wheel drive, single, double and cab-and-a-half type models. However, it's the double cab variety that appeals most to customers as they can be used for work or recreation and will seat five passengers in comfort. Because of the VAT exemption for companies on these essentially commercial vehicles, and the lower personal taxation for drivers of pick-ups as company cars, the sales of pick-ups have risen rapidly over the last four or five years. And now Nissan's Navara brings improved driveability, handling and a really high level of car-type specification to this sector. Since it's launch in August this year, the Navara has been the top-selling pick-up every month, knocking Mitsubishi into second place. Out of the total number of pick-ups sold in September, over 40 per cent wore the Nissan badge. No surprise then, that the Navara has just been voted 'Best Pick-Up' in the 2005 What Van Awards after beating off stiff competition from the Toyota Hilux and eight-times winner Mitsubishi L200, which still accounts for 35 per cent of the UK's pick-up market. commenting on the Navara's win, What Van's Editor said that the Navara is one of the best-performing diesel 4x4 pick-ups they have ever encountered. The current talking point is whether Nissan can overturn Mitsubishi's long dominance of this market sector with their new, and very powerful, Navara range before Mitsubishi launches their all-new L200 range on March 1st, 2006. Toyota, too, have launched their new Hi Lux range, so they should be able to improve on their 7 per cent share of pick-up sales. Nissan is expecting to sell 9,000 Navara pick-ups in the UK this year, of which half will be the new five-seat Double Cab and four-seat King Cab. Next year Nissan expect Navara UK sales to reach 10,000 units. The new Navara is built in Spain alongside Nissan's recently launched Pathfinder, itself a Land Rover Discovery class SUV. As the Navara and Pathfinder share much of the mechanical layout and adopt many of the best technical features, it's not surprising that the new Navara brings — for the first time — SUV qualities and characteristics to the pick up sector. Even though the Navara still has a ladder frame chassis and leaf springs for maximum load carrying and workhorse durability, the improvement in the handling and comfort of ride normally experienced in a pick-up is remarkable. At the front it now looks much more like an SUV rather than an upright commercial vehicle. Just as remarkable is its new and powerful direct injection diesel, which has an impressive 171bhp of power and 297lb ft of torque — the best by a long way out of all its competitors. The new Navara is also better where it matters most — load carrying. The King Cab version has the longest, widest and deepest load bed in its class while its sister-ship, the Navara Double Cab, has the widest and deepest load bed in the sector, which endows it with the largest load area for a double cab. The all-important width between the wheel arches for both models has been increased to 1,130mm. The bed length of the King Cab is 1,861mm; on the Double Cab it is 1,511mm. The payload is 1,070kg, and the maximum braked towing weight is a massive 1,600kg. The new Navara may look trendy and cool but underneath the glistening metalwork it is a real workhorse. Worthy of a special mention is its extremely strong tailgate — one that will not bend or buckle during heavy loading and unloading. Also deserving of praise is the fact that its load bay comes equipped with a C-Channel load securing system of rails and cleats. Furthermore, there is a whole host of bespoke accessories to tailor the new Navara to the owner's exact load carrying requirements — whether they be workhorse or recreational. It's all very impressive, and shows thorough attention to detail. I wasn't too keen on the chunky roof bars, that I felt detracted from the overall neat styling. I also found the side-sill steps could be restrictive when driving in deep muddy tracks — although they do protect the body sills from damage. The new Navara range is priced from 17,466.10 and rises to a hefty 26,014.23, but you need to remember that these are on-the-road prices including VAT (Other manufacturers — because pick-ups are commercial vehicles — do not generally quote OTR prices with the VAT element included). As companies buy many of these vehicles, the VAT is reclaimable and the company car tax element, although due to increase, will be lower than that for a passenger car. My test model was the near top-of-the-range Navara Double Cab Aventura with a 6-speed manual transmission, priced at 24,868.60 including VAT. The top model in the range gets a 5-speed automatic transmission. All models have selectable two- or four-wheel drive and a four-wheel low ratio transmission, easily operated by a facia-mounted dial-type switch. ABS braking is standard, and there's a rear differential lock for use in severe off-road conditions. The interior specification of the Aventura models really does bring pick-ups into the same league for equipment as up-market 4x4 SUVs. There is nothing left to add to these vehicles as everything is already included, from full front and curtain airbags, leather upholstery, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, 60/40 split folding rear seats, electric windows, electrically-operated and heated door mirrors, climate control, a premium sound system, Bluetooth mobile phone connection, a DVD satellite navigation system, automatic headlights, rain sensor wipers, cruise control and much more. With its purposeful new looks, the Navara is an imposing vehicle without being brash and the kit is fantastic for a pick-up. It looks a quality product, not just a tarted-up workhorse. Again, the use of chrome for the large grille and rear bumper is a tad heavy-handed for my taste but, where it matters, the driveability and performance is way ahead of anything in its class. In fact, it drives like a very good SUV. For looks, specification, performance, load carrying and towing, the Navara now sets the standard for both work and recreational pick-ups. And because of its power, fine on-road handling and equipment levels it is, I believe, the best pick-up on the market today. — David Miles Nissan Navara 2.5dCi Double Cab Aventura | 24,868 incl VAT Maximum speed: 105mph | 0-62mph: 11.5 seconds Test MPG: 30.7mpg | Power: 171bhp | Torque: 297lb ft Visit Nissan's website --------------------------------------------------- Nissan Navara Double Cab || HOME NEWS ROAD TESTS LONG-TERM TESTS LAUNCHES FEATURES VIDEOS MOTOR SHOWS BUYING GUIDES GALLERY COLUMNS TRAFFIC MAP ABOUT US CONTACT US name email address CAR SEARCH Search for information on your favourite model of car, including road tests and news. As soon as word got around that I had one for a week's testing, suggestions for uses to which it might be put started flooding in - which is how, for example, I ended up towing a trailer load of lobster creels across three miles of forest track to a fish farm. I very nearly had to tow a horsebox the following day, owing to a suspension collapse in someone's (old-model) Land Rover Discovery. As it turned out, my services were not required, and I must say I was quite pleased about that, since I have never had to transport any animal larger than a cat, but I have no doubt that the Navara would have managed the task with ease. In its press material for the current Navara, Nissan devotes a lot of space to pointing out how practical it is. The 172bhp output of the 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine is class-leading, there's an impressive 2.63 square metres of load area (2.9 if you choose the King Cab option), you can two a 2600kg braked trailer, and if you go off-roading the approach and departure angles of 29 and 22 degrees respectively are going to prove useful. That applies to all Navaras, but in the case of the range-topping Aventura tested here Nissan is also making bold claims that it represents a credible alternative to an SUV. There's a slight irony here, in that Nissan already builds an SUV - the Pathfinder - which is mechanically almost identical to the Navara. Thanks to the workhorse requirement inherent in the design, which has led Nissan to use a ladderframe chassis, neither is especially refined on the road - the Navara still less so because it has leaf springs at the rear rather than the Pathfinder's coils. All the same, the Navara is unusually well-poised on tarmac compared with other pickups. And where the Aventura version in particular really scores, in on-road terms, is in its high level of standard equipment. This includes items which make up the Hitech and Premium Packs available as options on other Navaras, namely DVD satellite navigation, an MP3-compatible audio system, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, an electric sunroof, heated and electrically adjustable front seats and leather upholstery.
