The body of the car is in absolutely lovely condition in my opinion for its age and mileage, Engine is probably in need of a little TLC, or maybe something simple like Airflow meter or the Actuator sticking, but feel free to browse the photos read the description fully, or come and view the car to make you own mind up. This car isnt the usual tired, battered, worn out, imported, used and abused S14`s thats been used on a track or raced about, this one is original, the last owners were Mr+Mrs Tootell from Glossop, and probably "Tootleled about" in it ...!!! . Read the description, Scroll down and browse the photos, then make your judgement !!! It`s the ideal car for someones daily driver, donor car to turn into a track day car, drift car, car to polish at the weekends, or something cheaper to run than your porsche or more weather friendly than your motorbike, but still has total and utter sportyness to travel to and from the office in etc...or maybe you`ve wanted to upgrade your older tired Nissan or Toyota for one of these increasingly popular S14`s... Maybe you`ve been to Japfest and now have the horn for one, either way, the choice is yours.. From the outside 4 paces away, the car looks remarkably clean and tidy the paintwork looks very good, nice and shiny solid red, with only a few small car park dents on the nearside door and quarter panel, a fair scab of rust on the front of the bonnet (see photo), and a few scabs on the bottoms of the rear quarter panels, any spots of rust etc, that are on it I have photographed below in the LOAD of photos at the bottom of the listing, a few stone chips relating to the age and mileage of the car,, but the car looks very very well indeed in my opinion...I`ve only driven it approx 100 miles and got the thumbs up at the lights off one other motorist. There is a couple of small bubbles of rust on the two offside wheel archs, small one just on the top of the back panel (inside boot edge), and a couple of small marks on the roof but again,all these little spots of rust or marks are shown in the photos. There is also a fine 6/8 inch scratch on the offside quarter panel, but If you bear in mind the car is 2001 and not a 2010 model, I`m sure you`ll be happy enough with it. The Wheels are in a poor condition, they dont appear to have any kerb marks, but they have suffered quite bad corrosion, If the car had another set of wheels it would look simply stunning... The previous owner kept one of the original wheels, So it is included in the sale (its in the boot), The tyres are all in good condition and all all seem to have plenty of tread left on them approx 4/5mm all round, a matching pair of Ceat`s on the front, a Pirelli and a Kumho on the rear. The two Ceat Tyres on the front look fairly recent and in good condition. Imagine what the car would look like with a nice set of big white wheels !!! (last photo, not this car, just used that photo off the internet to give you ideas) The Interior is also in good condition for it`s age and mileage in my opinion, bearly any wear on the seat, steering wheel, or pedals, just a slight bit of wear on the seat as you`d expect with its age, but nothing excessive... The car doesn`t look like it`s been smoked in, nor does it look to have ever carried a pet etc... Although the seats are in a good condition in terms of wear, the car could do with a light valet to freshen it up, but it`s not filty dirty by anyones standards, and is perfectly useable as it is. My problem is trying to find a decent valeter ! so easier to leave the car as it is and you (the winning bidder) sort it yourself. The boot carpet is somewhat manky and doesnt seem to match the cleanliness of the rest of the car, the Clarion 6 Disc CD Changer is also living in the boot, along with the space saver spare wheel and one of the original 16" alloy wheels. The Car has Air Con, but it doesnt feel too cold, so will probably need a re-gas, or if your going to use the car for a track car or drift car, you`ll be ripping it out anyway ! As mentioned, the Clarion CD Changer lives in the boot, and the headunit is a flipfront Clarion which works nicely with an electric aieral. It has all the usual Luxurys you`d expect from Nissan like :- Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors , Power Steering, Central Locking , Front fog lamps, flip front radio cassette player, Passenger and drivers airbag, Front Headlamp Wash, Rear Wiper, all of these items work correctly, the drivers side mirror looks to have had a "stick on" replacement, again shown in the photos, but it still moves electrically. The car drives superb as you would expect with a Nissan despite its age, theres no smoke, untoward bangs or rattles etc... BUT !! the engine is pretty down on power to what I was expecting, the previous owner tells me he had it plugged in and that it`s the Mass Air Flow Meter ? , I think it could more likely be the Turbo Actuator sticking, but I`m no mechanic... The engine also sounds very "cammy" or "tappety"... I have shown a video at the bottom of the listing but I must admit the video makes the car sound horrendous ** it`s no where near as bad as that video makes it sound... The noise doesnt get worse or better when cold, so I pressume it just needs a good bit of servicing or fettling by a decent mechanic... The Gearbox and suspension are all fine, slight bit of a judder off the brakes when going quicker, 40/50/60mph but a set of discs would solve this if it really bugged you... again, im trying to be super critical to save any dissapointed bidders. So to cover myself, and save any time waisting on my or your part, then please bid with the above statement in mind or come and view the car (before the end of the auction) to make your own assumptions. After some looking on Google and Youtube, I believe these SR20 Turbo engines do suffer from VCT noise etc. which is probably what it is on this (but not as bad as the youtube ones !! ) .. so probably common fault and anyone buying these will know what they are doing. The car looks to have a powerflow exhaust system on it, and it also had a new o/s/r shock for its mot apparently. There is however a pile of bills supposed to follow with the car, showing it`s had a loving owner.., however, as with all previous owners, once they buy another car, they soon forget about forwarding stuff on, so take it as there is just the Logbook, an Old MOT, a couple of service bills, and the Current MOT with the car, also the car is taxed until the end of September 2012, and is ready to drive home !! last month I purchased a new car and the SX has been on the drive since and Ive decided it`s time to sell. It`s been a great car, Ive never had any mechanical issues with it, its been serviced regularly since new and drives extremely well. Its never been tracked, raced or involved in accident. MOT till Jan 13, Tax June 12.Ive owned the car since it had 15k miles on the clock and is now up to a genuine 69k miles. The engine pulls like a train and is very clean and tidy, the gearbox is very smooth, the clutch pulls well and the ride and handling are both very good. Ive spent a lot of money over the years to keep the car in good condition. Generally they are prone to corrosion and rust but Ive had the rear of the car under sealed to prevent this. Last year I renewed all 4 shocks, top mounts and lots of the rubber bushes around the car and is very tight. The only mechanical modification to the car is a thicker anti roll bar at the rear and this adds to the tightness and handling of the car. When the bushes were renewed some were replaced with rubber bushes some with poly bushes. Its also had new pads and discs all round with the past 6 months.It has a FSH, all the major servicing has been done by garages and the minor servicing done by myself with the exception of the last service where I wanted to go over everything on the car. All the filters were changed including the gearbox filter, all new oils in the engine, gearbox and the diff and I had a 4 wheel alignment done on the car to make sure everything was aligned. The engine is very clean and I cannot stress a how good a engine the sr20det is. I also had 4 new Avon tyres installed at the end of last year, they have done about 5000 mile and have plenty on trend left (Yokohama`s were the standard tyre but these Avon have more grip and produce are better ride).I have done some minor modifications to the car but only to bring it up to date. Ive fitted white dials with chrome surrounds as can be seen in the pics. There are HID headlights installed on the main beam. The arm rest has a leather padded cover and some of the internally trim was sprayed black to freshen up the interior and matches the rest of the interior. The boot of the car has also been sound proofed.The interior is full black leather in good condition, though the drivers seat is showing signs of wear of the bolster from getting in and out the car, but overall the leather is good and has been regularly conditioned. The rear seats look like they have only been sat a few times as they are very good condition. The steering wheel is good condition though does have some small cracking. The stereo is the standard single DIN Sony head unit with steering wheel control and 6 disc CD changer in the boot. The air conditioning was recharged last year too. Supplied with 3 keys.The bodywork is good, there is no corrosion, I did have to have the front wings, drivers rear arch and a smaller part of the passenger rear arch resprayed a couple of years ago due to the paint in those areas being of poor condition. The job was professionally done and originally matched very well but as time has gone on it never faded at the same rate as the originally paint so is a slightly darker shade of red. I tried to capture it in the pics.It does have the usual stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet, a couple of small marks on the rear bumper and a mark on the drivers door, all of which are only noticeable on close inspection.The only other thing to note is there is a small clicking noise from the passenger suspension when turning from lock to lock which the car has always had. Ive had it checked over plenty of times and the alignment done but apparent it can be common in these cars.As I say its been a great car to me and well looked after! Ive got receipts for a lot of the parts and work if you want them.Boring bit,Feel free to make an offer and test drives can arranged after Ive seen the proper insurance cover for the car. life, with the intention of tidying it up and tuning to stage 2. In reality I don`t have the time or money for this as I`ve got a classic Mini that needs some tlc, so I`m letting her go to someone who can put a few hours in!The car is currently SORN due to a water pipe just under the manifold corroding and obtaining a leak (so common on S13`s). Like I said I just don`t have the time, but this shouldn`t take any longer than a day or so and could probably be welded rather than replaced as I think it`s made of brass. The water feed through the throttle body has also been bypassed due to corrosion, but this in no way affects the car and some people do this anyway for a slight performance gain. Other than that the engine/gearbox/clutch/turbo are very solid and haven`t let me down. I`ll go through the bad bits now and be as honest as I can:The car is almost 20 years old so it does have the usual small scratches etc, but no major bumps or anything serious. It`s pretty tidy.The boot, like on every s13, is rusting and could probably do with replacing at some point.Passenger door won`t open from the outside but fine from inside.Boot won`t unlock from outside but will from the catch near the drivers seat.Paint starting to come off rear bumper, presumably the man in the paint shop was a cowboy.Bit of rust on the exhaust.And now the good points:This is a totally un-abused 200sx. The lady I bought it from had really looked after it and there`s a bookfull of receipts for garage work with no expense spared. When I took it over I replaced the plugs, oil change, water & anti-freeze and oil filter. Since then I`ve driven it for 6 months and pretty slowly to be fair with only a few boot fulls now and then to keep it on its toes. I`m not a boy-racer. The car is standard except from a Japspeed air filter. The car ticks over very nicely and pulls like a train in every gear, these things are so fun to drive. Turbo spools up at 3k as it should. Brakes are good. Gears are smooth. It handles well and everything is as it should be. The interior is tidy with only a slight bit of wear to the drivers seat.The private plate comes with the car and it`s been valued by Reg Transfers at £250. The DVLA won`t let me sell it whilst the car is SORN but you could get a few quid back. Really this car needs to be trailered away unless you do live close to the Barrow-In-Furness / Ulverston area and you`d probably be ok. I wouldn`t drive her too far though. You`re welcome to the driveway for a day if you want to fix the leak after a sale though!Overall this car is no minter but it`s almost there. I`m looking for £550 or sensible offers. The car is priced without tax so please don`t ask me to put some on. No PX sorry as I`ve already got another car... The coilovers are very stiff and as with most stiff cars you can hear all sorts of squeaky bushes etc if you go over potholes! (I also have adjustable arms, toe rods, tension rods with polybushes to go with the car if I don`t sell them before hand)Now come to the bad part about this car, its registered as a CAT-D, which is a real shame because it drives lovely.However it has been VIC tested and MOT`d and is back on the road. The only damage remaining on the car is a dented roof caused by the bonnet flying open and hitting it. Its purely cosmetic and i wouldn`t say the dents are any deeper than 5mm, they`re just wavey and complex. I have taken to a couple of places and got a quote of £180-£250 for dent removal and roof respray. (Please see last picture)Other than that, the car has a few age related marks, front bumper could do with a touch up from stone chips but no dents.Best to view really as its hard to tell with these things. it seized up on me after a few days of ownership, nightmare! A new SR20 was fitted from another S14A, the car was standard and owned by an older dude. His car was broken due to rust. So myself and a friend of mine (mechanic/fabricator) installed the new SR20 into my car. All was well after a half days work, the car was running well but blowing from the manifold and gaskets. The O rings on the injectors were worn slightly and letting fuel out. So I put my car into Hypertech to get new gaskets, OEM manifold and new injector seals! The Nismo injectors had a funny spray pattern, they have now been replaced with DeatschWerks injectors which have a great spray pattern. The car is now running as it should be! Even when it wasn`t running as it should have (with the gaskets etc needing replaced) it still pulled very well although I didn`t give it full beans from the few weeks it wasn`t in the garage. Thats pretty much the history of the car in my ownership, not too good eh? I`ve owned the car since around the start of September. I swapped the car for my B18 EK Civic, going from that to the S14 was a massive leap in power.
